Chemical and mechanical properties of spiral steel pipes according to GB/T 1591 standard
1、 Chemical composition
GB/T 1591 Spiral steel pipes are made of low-alloy high-strength structural steel (such as Q355B), and the core chemical composition range is as follows:
Carbon (C): ≤ 0.20% (control carbon content to balance strength and weldability);
Silicon (Si): ≤ 0.50% (deoxidation effect);
Manganese (Mn): 0.90%~1.65% (strengthens the matrix and enhances hardenability);
Phosphorus (P) and sulfur (S): both ≤ 0.035% (strictly limit impurity content);
Alloy elements:
Niobium (Nb): 0.005%~0.05% (refine grain size, enhance toughness);
Vanadium (V): 0.01%~0.12% (precipitation strengthening);
Chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni): ≤ 0.30%, ≤ 0.50% (improves weather resistance).

Thickness ≤ 16mm: ≥ 355 MPa;
16~40mm:≥ 345 MPa;
40~63mm:≥ 335 MPa;
Tensile strength (Rm): 470~630 MPa;
Post fracture elongation (A5): ≥ 21%.
Impact toughness:
0 ℃ longitudinal impact energy: ≥ 34 J (V-shaped notch);
Lateral impact energy: ≥ 27 J (some standard requirements).
Other performance:
Weldability: Low carbon equivalent (CEV ≤ 0.43%), supports submerged arc welding, arc welding and other processes, thick plates need to be preheated;
Surface quality: No cracks, folds or other defects, in compliance with appearance standards.

Production process: strip steel rolling, submerged arc welding, non-destructive testing (ultrasonic testing), hydrostatic testing, etc;
Specification range: Outer diameter 219-3620mm, wall thickness 5-25mm, length can be customized.
